Cancer Free!!

Last week, we got the best news! It called for an immediate PARTY!!! We made a sign, blew up balloons, popped poppers, enjoyed some faith ice cream...BIG TIME excitement!! The reason for the party??
My dad found out he is CANCER FREE!! He was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer around November. He had surgery to remove it and now after his 3 month check up they found out he is free of cancer. PRAISE THE LORD!

Opa and Oma (my parents) with Austin, Aubrey Rose, and Jed
After we finished our party for Opa, Aubrey Rose decided we should throw a party for Auntie Christy (my sister). So, she did. She lined up the balloons just right and then said, "Surprise Titi!" Here is Opa and Aubrey Rose at Titi's surprise party. :)

Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY today OPA!!! We love you soooooooooooo much!!

Clovis Rodeo!

An annual Smittcamp family tradition is experiencing the Clovis Rodeo. I had never been to any rodeo before I met Blake. Now, the last weekend in April of every year, I know where I want to be!! We love it!!

On Thursday night, they have the PBR bull riding night. Aubrey Rose kept calling the bulls "bulldogs." If the bull got away, she would yell at the horses with the cowboys on them, "Horsey's...the bulldog is over dare!! GO get em!" Blair and Jordan
This was Austin's first rodeo. He slept through the entire thing!
Uncle Bradley and Aubrey Rose
Then Saturday there is the Clovis Rodeo Parade. We got to sit with some wonderful friends. This is Audrey. They are so cute together.
We also got to sit with our sweet friend Julie. Aubrey Rose calls her Juju. When Aubrey came home she kept saying "Juju's party was soooo fun!" HA!! Julie was so sweet and saved spots in front of her dad's office on Pollasky street and she brought drinks and snacks for friends. She is the best! So, Aubrey Rose thought Julie put on the whole "party!" HA!

Fun Clovis memories!

8 weeks old

Austin is 8 weeks old now. He has been such a blessing to our world. There definitely are times that I still can't believe we have boy. I thought after 2 months that concept would have sunk in by now. Not so much. But, this baby is definitely all boy. Love it! We are still debating on the color of Austin's eyes. Blake has brown. Aubrey Rose and I have blue, so there definitely is a chance for blue!
His smiles are so fun. It doesn't matter to me what they are caused by, we are just soaking them all up.

Sorry these are blurry. The best I could do with my phone. :)
First shoes...so fun.

Family affair!

I found this picture and I had to post. We have family nights once a week with Blake's family and also once a week with my family. We love it! It does make for a busy week sometimes, but we sure would not change it for anything! Not only is it wonderful to keep up on all of our busy lives, it also is awesome for making fun out of the normal, sometimes mundane routines.

Love this picture!! My cousin, my sister, my brother, his wife, my mom, Aubrey and my nephew!! LOVE it!!

Easter Eggs

Blake's parents were so sweet to dye eggs with Aubrey Rose. She absolutely loved it! For a couple of days after, Aubrey would tell me how much fun she had "making her eggs." She kept telling me "the pink one didn't work though." I guess the pink shade had a hard time coloring the egg. That girl makes me laugh.

Thank you so much Mimi and Big Papa for loving on our girl the way you do.

The Lord has risen!!

Happy Easter!!! What a blessed day! Today, we are celebrating with family and friends. We hope you have a wonderful day celebrating our Savior!

Here are Austin and Aubrey Rose in their Easter outfits. Mimi was sooooo sweet and made these for them. We have the best and most talented Mimi! Thank you soooo much Linda!!
This picture of them makes me think Aubrey Rose is not going to let just any girl come near her brother. Or least that is what I am hoping for! ;)
Can anyone photoshop these two pictures together? HA! Don't you just love when you get the smiles, just not at the same time. :)

Happy Easter!!

Teaching our kids about Jesus

One of my highlights of this past week was getting together with 2 of my cousins (they are actually my cousins wives, but I love them like my own). We got together to teach our kids about Jesus.

First we started with finding our sticks to make our cross. Then, we glued our "grass" to the plate.

Do you see Christopher's cross?

Finished product...
Jesus died on the cross for us. His body was put in the tomb (an egg shell) and 3 days later the stone was pulled back and his body was gone. HE IS ALIVE!!!
I have kept our project on the table all week, and Aubrey Rose tells me the story now. That is my favorite part of when she tells me the story. Her eyes get all big and excited and she says, "Jesus is ALIVE!!" So precious! We did one other craft. You pretty much only need 2 ingredients...crescent rolls and marshmallows. You can find the recipe online, but I will try to describe it. (Sorry, we weren't focused on the tutorials this time.) :)
We took the marshmallows, rolled them in melted butter. Then, rolled them in cinnamon and sugar. Laid it on the crescent roll, wrapped it up and made the sides tight.

Resurrection Rolls
The marshmallow represents Jesus and the roll represents the tomb.
We baked as directed on the crescent roll container. I think 350 degrees for only 15 minutes. Oh, I forgot to tell you...we dipped the top of the rolls in butter and sprinkled more cinnamon and sugar on top. Yummy, yummy!

The greatest part is when we handed each child their roll, they opened it up and...Jesus was gone! He is ALIVE!!!

Not only did these tell Jesus' story, they were delicious too! :) The kids loved it and the best part is they definitely learned about Jesus and his life.

Here are Aubrey Rose, Christopher and Jadon with our craft.
You probably have everything needed for these at home or improvise with what you do have. So, call a friend or call a family member, get your kids together to teach your children about Jesus. It sure was fun to do together. I promise you, you will feel good.

What a sweet day!!!

She LOOOOOVES him!

I have mentioned before that Aubrey Rose LOVES her little brother. But, I have not really shared how deep her love is for Austin.

When Austin was born, it started out that she just wanted him near anywhere she went. Then, she started to get a little attached. And then she became addicted...but, in a good way. Okay, Austin might not always agree with that statement. :) Please disregard the no clothes on her. I promise she had clothes on 5 minutes before. Mickey Mouse (on the TV) asked her if she liked to dress up. She responded, "Yes." Mickey said, "Alright, let's play dress up!" Next thing I know she was dressed like you see and she told me she was a "Pink Princess." Oh really!? And then, I think it was Austin's turn next. HA!

Sleepy time

There really is nothing like a tiny, little baby sleeping on your chest.

It is just a feel good feeling.
