Our little Kindergartner

It is so fun to watch Aubrey Rose learn so much.  She has homework each week and although some days it is little work to get her to sit down at the table to start, she LOVES doing homework once she starts.  She is now writing full sentences and
reading so much!!  A couple weeks ago we went to Auntie Blair's house to meet her new puppies.  Aubrey Rose read her tonight book to Mimi and Auntie BB.  They were quite impressed how much she can read already.  It is so fun to see her growth in only a couple of months.
Aubrey Rose continues to do her laundry.  The most difficult part of the job for her is putting the clothes away.  I found that she does better if she starts with separating the clothes.  If she sees this huge pile, she usually is overwhelmed.  If she separates the clothes by shirts, pi's, underwear, socks, pants, etc. it is easier for her to see how simple the job is.  If she could choose, she would prefer to not do her laundry at all, but the only part of the job that is work for me to keep her motivated is put  to it away.  We continue to charge forward!  By high school hopefully she can do it in her sleep!  HA!!

Her first field trip!

I was so blessed to be able to join Aubrey Rose on her first field trip.
This girl is absolutely loving being in Kindergarten.
She loves the learning.
She often tells us that all she does in Kindergarten is play.
This day has been one of her favorites.
Her favorite part of the trip was riding on the hay ride.
Our girl is quite the social butterfly.
She has found some really sweet friends in Kindergarten.
She also loved being able to pick out a pumpkin to bring home.
She said she wanted to find "the cutest little pumpkin."
We are so very blessed with the best teacher EVER!
Love her!!
And I have loved getting to know all of the new friends Aubrey Rose
has been spending her mornings with at school.
She sure has some great little friends.

Soccer girl

Daddy has been quite the supporter of getting the inner athlete out of this girl.
He has led the charge signing her up for soccer, practicing with her,
even going shopping with her for a pink soccer ball, shin guards and all the soccer gear she might need.
Don't you practice soccer in a tutu??
After two practices...it was game time!
She was so excited.
She was so anxious to get there.
Every day since, she asked if today is soccer again.
She loved it.
She also loved scoring the first goal of the game that day.  ;)
This little cutie pie wore his favorite Cars hat and sat really good playing on Daddy's phone,
which let us watch his sissy play her first game.
Thank you Austin!
On top of Aubrey Rose loving her new sport, she is meeting some sweet friends.
It's a WIN, WIN all around!!
Thank you, Blake, for being the best Daddy.
Even though I was a little hesitant on adding two days of practices and games to our weekly schedule, it sure was fun to watch her play.
It was even more fun watching her beam of excitement.
Aubrey Rose said after the game on Saturday that she loves soccer, more than dance.
I am so curious as to what this little girl will love as the years progress.

Kindergarten update

Our little Kindergartner is getting older and older every day.  ;)
She absolutely LOVES going to school.
We are in her sixth week of school.
26 days in so far.
She goes to school in the mornings and
I would not consider Aubrey Rose to be a morning girl.
She loved preschool, but there were definitely days
she asked if she could stay home or if she didn't have to go.
I have yet to hear any of that.
One day she did ask if she could just wait a little longer to go,
but other than that, it has been such a delight for her.

This is Aubrey Rose's FAVORITE way to get to school...
I haven't mentioned anything yet to her,
but I did notice she started the school year wearing her backpack
on both shoulders with the middle snap done across her chest.
Now she insists on holding it on one shoulder.
I am not sure if her friends wear it that way too,
but you better believe I am going to start paying attention to that.  ;)
And so it begins.
Friday's are spirit days at school.
Mimi (Blake's wonderful mom) made her the cutest dress with the school colors.
On the back of the dress Mimi added a paw print and Go Tigers!
It turned out so cute!!
Thank you Mimi!!
One different thing about Aubrey Rose being in Kindergarten is,
now any extra curricular things need to be done in the afternoon or evening.
There is no more luxury of getting it done in the morning.  :(
It is quite tricky with Austin still taking afternoon naps.
We have gymnastics on Wednesdays...
soccer practice on Wednesday nights,
dance practice on Thursdays...
and Awana's just started back up as well.
It's a lot of work being in Kindergarten!!
So, as you can probably imagine I come across this every now and then.  ;)
Yesterday, when we picked up Aubrey Rose from school,
Austin let go of my hand and sprinted to sissy.
Aubrey picked him up in her arms, swung him around and they both giggled and giggled.
I wish I had video taped it.
It was so precious.
Austin sure loves it when sissy is home.
So do I.  :)

Kindergartner!!

I can't believe we have a little Kindergartner!
Or I should say a BIG Kindergartner!!
I am so proud of our girl.
After we came home from a week at the beach,
I decided we would spend the following week PRETENDING it was school.
We woke up, got dressed, ate breakfast and
started walking to school just like we will be doing the following week for Kindergarten.
We got to school and we got to see our favorite new employee at our school.
One of my sweetest and most dear friends is now a GIS at Aubrey Rose's school.
I am so excited and thankful.  Such a blessing.
Then, we went and played at the park and the birthday girl joined us!!
My little niece recently turned ONE!
It was fun to play at Aubrey Rose's new school's park with her favorite cousins.

One thing we do when we walk to school is we look for roly poly bugs.
Austin loves to watch Aubrey Rose with the bugs.
He has yet to touch them.
This same week of pretending we had school,
we also got to visit Aubrey Rose's new classroom and meet her new teacher.
We LOVE her new teacher!
We feel so incredibly blessed to be at the school we are and to have the teacher we do.
As a gift she gave her students this note below and the goodies in the picture above.
It was pretty cute.
This was Aubrey Rose playing on her playground she gets to play on in Kindergarten.
The night before Kindergarten started, we had a fun night celebrating her big accomplishment.
I put out some new school clothes that she got over the summer.
We put out the supplies she will need and her new backpack and lunch bag.
She asked if she could write a note to her teacher.
She loved all the fun stuff.
She kept giggling and told me,
"You surprised me Mommy!  I didn't know you were going to do this!"
The next morning was the BIG day!
Time for KINDERGARTEN!!

We got to school and saw Mrs. Scalzo right when we walked up!
Such a treat!
And Daddy coming on the first day was such a treat as well!
When she came home from her first day, I threw a tiny party for her.
We had balloons that Austin and I pummeled her with.  HA!!
We kept cheering and jumping up and down celebrating her accomplishment.
She loved her first day.
She loved her first week.
She has loved everything about Kindergarten.
Day #2 of Kindergarten we all matched and definitely NOT on purpose.
Oops!!!  But it was picture worthy.  HA!!
Two things I want to remember about her first week of Kindergarten was when I asked her if she was nervous about anything on her first day, she said, "No Mommy, I knew they would keep me safe."  That made me heart so happy because I knew she was confident and comfortable.  I pray that confidence and comfort can carry on throughout her years in school.
The other thing I pray for are her friends.  I pray for the influences around her.  I pray God puts sweet, wonderful friends near her always.  On the second day of school, she came home and told me a story about her best friend.  I stopped her in her tracks and we just started jumping up and down and cheering and thanking Jesus that Aubrey Rose has a best friend at school.  Two days in and she already has a best friend.  :)  After we finished celebrating I asked her what her friends name was and she said, "I don't know."  ;)  I love how Kindergartners can be best friends, yet don't know each other names.  So sweet.

What a great start to a new school year,
a new school,
and a whole new season of life!
