Christopher and Aubrey Rose

I am sure you all recognize this little boy from our Letter Days. Well, last week Christopher got to come over and hang out for a few hours and just PLAY with his friend Aubrey Rose. No set plans. No learning specific letters. Just fun play time together. They had the best time together!

At one point in the day, sweet Christopher looked at me and said..."Aunt Cherie, what letter are we going to learn today?" Oh it broke my heart! I felt like I should pull something out of a bag of tricks, but I had nothing! :)

It's raining! It's pouring!

Do you remember the story about Aubrey Rose's Pink Brella??? Well, the excitement has not washed away at our house. Just about every day, I will hear something to the effect of...."UH-OH, IT IS RAINING!! Come here Mommy!! My brella will keep you dry!!"

She insisted on keeping Daddy dry. If he put the umbrella down, she immediately explained its purpose.

Our sweet friends Tommy and Janay came into town for a visit. We are PRAYING really hard that someday they will move back to Fresno. :) Until then, we will soak up every moment we get to be together.

We started documenting in pictures, not only because we LOVE getting them together, but you never know, what if they get married. HA!!! Love you guys! Can't wait until our next memories together.

A little help...maybe even a lot...

We are counting down the days until this new baby will be arriving. The only problem is we don't know what date we are counting down to. HA!
In the meantime, we have been spending a lot of time with our nephew, Jed. We can't get enough of him! I am just praying the way Aubrey Rose interacts with Jed is a sign of what is to come as a BIG sister! She is ADORABLE with Jed. She is so gentle and thoughtful to him. Always wanting to hold him and sad if she can't. I can not wait to see these two grow up together.

I am praising our Lord for His plans and for the way He has blessed our family with a little extra help in preparing our little girl to be a BIG sister someday. Only time will tell how much of a help and what life will be like when the baby is at our home 24/7, rather than just a short drive away. :)

Perfect ski day!

On Saturday we went up to China Peak for a fun ski day. Aubrey Rose and I hung out together while Blake and his family did a couple of ski runs. Worked out to be a perfect day!!

Another reason it was a perfect day at the slopes was because we ran into sweet friends!! Julie and Kim were there with their families! Love these girls!

Aubrey Rose LOVES JuJu! Julie has some really fun animals, even BIG turtles, at her parents house, so Aubrey is quite the fan of anytime with Julie.

After a couple of runs, Daddy came down the mountain and put Aubrey on skis for the first time!

I am not sure who was more excited. :)

And then one video of Aubrey racing down the bunny hill. After 2 runs, she told us she was ready to go up the big chair lift to the big mountain. Daddy told her we could do that next time. Uh-oh...we have another skier on our hands. LOVE it!

Almost there!

We have TWO weeks to go until the newest little Smittcamp arrives. We can not wait to find out if it is a boy or a girl. I still feel probably 99%, or maybe even 100%, that this baby is a girl. Aubrey was 2 days early, so I am hoping and praying this baby cooperates just as well, if not better. :)
We have definitely been in baby mode over here lately. Last week, we were busy pulling all the baby things out, cleaning everything up, sanitizing bottles and such again, laundry like crazy, setting up the bassinet, making sure we have everything in order....whew, it started to make my head turn.
Things still to do??? I need to pack my bags for the hospital and also a bag for Aubrey Rose. Maybe, I should start making a list so I don't forget things. :) Oh, and I should buy some diapers too. We might need those. HA! We bought a box and then realized we bought size 1 rather than the newborn stage. What were we thinking??? We are so out of this baby game! I am sure it will all come right back just as quickly as it came with Aubrey Rose.
I had a doctor appointment on Tuesday. (Side note...just to brag about my doctor a bit...I happened to get there about 10 minutes early and when I got there they were already ready for me to go into a room. So, I went in and waited for the doctor. My appt was at 10am. My doctor walked in at 10:01!!! No joke. 10:01!!! LOVE Dr. Mason!) After a few minutes, it was decided this baby is content, happy and staying put. We have another appointment next week to see if there are any changes.
We will soon see God's plan work itself out. I can't wait. :)

Snow day!

Don't you just LOVE unexpected blessings??!!! Well, this snow day was definitely one. It was not planned. It was a spur of the moment "let's drive up to the snow right now" memory. And it turned out to be a wonderful, unexpected blessing.

At first, Aubrey Rose just wanted to touch the snow and play in it.
However, Daddy had other plans!

Down they went!

They both LOVED it! Up and down, back and forth they went.

Then, they made snow angels...

They made a tiny snowman...

But, her FAVORITE part, by far, was licking and eating the snow.

However, the most laughs came from Daddy throwing her into the snow.

Oh, she was one happy girl...all day long!

Even when it was time to go home.
